Marine Corps, Captain, Jet Pilot ( A6 Intruder) & Military Veteran Outreach Coordinator
Captain Richard F. Liebler was born and raised in New Jersey, graduating from Seton Hall University in 1967 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
Upon his graduation, Rich joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a Jet Pilot (A6 Intruder) and served in the Vietnam War with great honor and valor. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroism during a hazardous mission along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, and later survived an enemy rocket attack that left him with a cracked spine, shattered wrists, and brain trauma.
Upon his return to civilian life in 1974, Rich began a career in the auto and real estate industries. He started off his career at Hillside Auto Mall, working there for 35 years. He has also volunteered his time and skills to various veteran outreach groups throughout the years. In 1989, Richard tragically lost his 17-year-old son in a car accident, which prompted him to start an auto technician training program in his son’s honor.
Since 2010, Rich has served as Vice President of Sansone Auto Group. In 2016, he returned to Seton Hall University for graduate school at 70 years old, earning Master’s Degrees in both Professional Counseling and School Counseling.
He has now focused his efforts on helping at-risk and underprivileged populations, specifically incarcerated veterans. He works behind prison walls to provide supportive counseling services, making a profound impact on countless lives through his work.
